We’ve been in the wedding industry for a long time. Like, a really long time. But a few weeks ago we learned a completely new wedding trick that simply must be shared with brides.
For the record, this is not an original idea. One of our retailers – Never Knew I Needed Shop – shared a new trend on Instagram that completely blew our mind.
Bustling A Wedding Veil!
While it seems obvious, the concept is new…and kind of revolutionary. With this trick, you can pin up your cathedral length wedding veil just like you do the train of your dress. This allows you to keep your exquisite wedding veil during your reception and beyond without it getting in the way.
How To Bustle Your Wedding Veil
Step 1 – Take Your Veil To Your Seamstress
Nearly all wedding gowns need alterations, so we’re assuming that you already have a trusted seamstress you’re working with. This trick requires some forethought, so be sure to bring your veil to your alterations appointment so that it can be ready in time for your wedding
Step 2 – Add Some Notions
While the original video showing this idea suggested using a hat pin, something more permanent could be added as well. Consider adding one half of a clear sewing snap to the mid-point of your veil or incorporating several into the lace pattern of your veil. Then, add the other half up by veil's comb.
Step 3 – Bustle!
After your ceremony, have your wedding planner, bridesmaid, or trusted friend attach snap them together to create a bustled look. Voila! The result is a cathedral length wedding veil that you can truly wear all night long.
